Entry Doors – A Short guide to Entry Doors - Part I

Choosing a new entry door for your home is an important decision to make. The new entry will need to fit in with the general character of your house, and the door is the one of the first things noticed by visitors to your home, so you need to choose carefully.
Entry doors are exposed to the elements, and so are prone to look worn and old after only a short amount of time. This is because traditional entry doors are constructed from wood, and wooden doors are susceptible to damage in adverse weather conditions.
NY Entry DoorsToday, thanks to advances in technology, modern entry doors are available in several different materials including the traditional wood, fiberglass or fiberglass and steel compositions. An excellent feature of the more modern doors is that the entire entry door is sold as a complete unit: the door comes pre hung on is frame, and is supplied with all side lights, locks and hinges.
Some entry doors can appear to be constructed from wood when in fact they are not. These are constructed from steel with a wood overlay, providing a door which looks authentic but is also extremely strong and durable.
